When is English Wine Week 2024?
Of course, we wouldn't want you to miss out on the celebrations, so mark your calendars, because this year English Wine Week takes place from the 15th to the 23rd of June. With so much to see and do during the week, it's hard to decide where to start. But what we’d recommend is visiting your most local producer first (and if that’s not us, we’d say visit them second!). After all, championing your local English Wine producers is what English Wine Week is all about!
What’s happening for English Wine Week at Hattingley Valley?
As the fastest growing sector of the Agricultural industry in this country, there are now well over 1000 commercial vineyards in English Wine Of course, you won’t be able to visit them all (although, you can certainly try!). We think Hampshire would be a good place to start! But, we wouldn’t want to be too biased, that’s why this year we’re holding events spanning from the bustling metropolis to the tranquil rolling hills of the South Downs.
So, without further ado, here our the top English Wine Week events and promotions we’ll be holding and recommending, during this year's festivities:
1. Atul Kochhar Restaurants - Kanishka and Vaasu Wine Dinners
Our first recommendation comes as a two-for-one, as this English Wine Week we have had the privilege to partner with Michelin-starred chef Atul Kochhar to bring you two fabulous wine dinners, at his London and Marlow restaurants.
At Kanishka by Atul Kochhar, you'll embark on a journey through pan-Indian cuisine, savouring a variety of tastes, flavours, and textures. On Tuesday, June 18th, join us for an extraordinary English wine dinner at the renowned Mayfair restaurant. The evening will be elevated by the presence of celebrity chef Roy Ner. Together, Kochhar and Ner will create a unique dining experience, matched with pairings of our fine English Wines. It’s a night you certainly won’t want to miss! On Wednesday the 19th of June, Vaasu Marlow, will take the spotlight with an exceptional evening of fine dining. Join us for an exclusive dinner and English wine pairing event featuring renowned wine expert Joe Wadsack. Joe will skilfully pair a selection of wines from our Hattingley Valley portfolio with a specially curated five-course menu. This menu highlights the best of modern Indian cuisine, with a focus on the rich culinary traditions of Punjab, Delhi, and Rajasthan, an evening that promises to delight! 2. The Mutton, Wine Dinner
The Mutton is a fabulous independent pub set in a beautiful location overlooking Hazeley Heath, their cuisine combines creative seasonal dishes with traditional pub favourites; all made using the very best of British ingredients the perfect accompaniment to our fine English Wines. With a keen eye on seasonality, big flavours and beautiful plates, Head Chef Rob Boer has designed a bespoke menu for an evening, in celebration of English Wine Week. Taking place on Tuesday 18th June the dinner will feature a 5-course menu paired alongside our English wines, which promises to be a real treat. 3. Caviste, Barrel Tasting
For our local customers, we will be holding a celebratory English Wine Week barrel top tasting at Caviste Wine at Newlyns Farm Shop, Hook. This complimentary tasting will be held on Saturday 22nd June between 11am and 4 pm. Rebecca Ford our Regional Sales Manager will be leading the tasting of our three core English sparkling wines: Classic Reserve NV, Sparkling Rosé 2020 and Blanc de Blancs 2015, plus our STILL Chardonnay 2022. This tasting promises to give a great insight in to the Hattingley range and style in celebration of English Wine Week.
4. Chesil Rectory, Promotion
In a special English Wine Week promotion, our good friends at Winchester restaurants The Chesil Rectory will be offering an extended list of Hattingley Valley English Wines by the glass. Our premium English STILL and Sparkling Wines including STILL Rosé by the glass, which pairs seamlessly with the delights of The Chesil's new summer menu. 5. Vineyards of Hampshire Fizz Fest, Wine Festival
To end the week with a bang, there’s an event you won’t want to miss: Vineyards of Hampshire Fizz Fest which takes place on Sunday 23rd of June. Where you’ll taste the best of Hampshire’s English Sparkling Wines and enjoy an afternoon in the sun (hopefully!), glass in hand overlooking the beautiful vineyards of at The Grange Hampshire.
6. AO by Daniel Rogan, Promotion
Bonus promotion! We couldn’t leave without letting you know about a very exciting promotion with our friends at Michelin Guide Restaurant, AO by Daniel Rogan. A special English Wine Week menu will be running from Thursday the 20th to Saturday the 22nd June. AO by Daniel Rogan will be adding some additional wines from our range to their wine flight for these dates with some new and exciting food and wine pairings to mark the occasion. What’s more the restaurant will be serving a new English Cocktail featuring our Hattingley Valley Classic Reserve during the week.
