Celebrating Her Majesty: Queen Elizabeth II 1926 -2022

Buckingham Palace has announced the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British History. As with the rest of the nation, we are deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty. Her unfaltering commitment during her years in service will remain a huge inspiration to us all. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family as we process this historic news together. Should you wish to sign the Book of Condolences as we have done, here is the link

A few words from our founder and chairman, Simon Robinson:

"It was with great sorrow we heard of the passing of our beloved monarch yesterday. She has been a tower of strength and a beacon of stability for the nation and the Commonwealth for over 70 years and an example to us all about how to fulfil our duty to serve others. Our thoughts and prayers are with the royal family today – we should not forget that, as well as being our Queen, she was a Mother and Grandmother. What has surprised me a little, I confess, is the reaction from around the world: I am deeply touched by the many messages of condolence and support even we at Hattingley have received from our many friends overseas. I had no idea such a response would be forthcoming, but it shows how widely she was loved and respected.
We are in mourning, which will last until the day following the state funeral (currently expected to be Monday, 19th September). We have cancelled our tours for the next two weekends, and we will take a break from communication; our fondest thoughts are with her family and, in particular, our New King Charles III. God save the King."
Her Majesty: Queen Elizabeth II

"I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service of our great imperial family to which we all belong."

HM Queen Elizabeth II, 21st April 1947
