2018 was a great year for the English wine industry with a nearly perfect growing season - a very cold and wet winter that delayed budburst, ideal conditions at flowering and a record-breaking long summer, resulted in high yields and excellent quality fruit with good concentrations of sugars and balancing acidity.

This limited release sparkling wine is made from Bacchus and Pinot Gris from the 2018 vintage. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were whole bunch pressed and then spent three months in stainless steel tanks. Once bottled the wine spent five months ageing on lees before disgorging.

Tasting Notes

The Grand Duchess has lovely aromatic elderflower and white flower aromas and balanced soft acidity on the palate. With a ripe fruit and floral character that lingers in the mouth, and refreshing and persistent aromatics on the finish.
